Dirk Leroux was born 1976 in Genk, lives and works in Ghent.   His work consists mainly of paintings in oil on canvas and paper. With the necessary humor he explores man’s dark side, his animal instincts, the moment when man crosses his ethical boundaries and behaves like a beast. In his recent work, his fascination with mythology is a source of inspiration.  More specifically, he looks for similarities between Roman Bacchanalia and the behavior of contemporary man.
