‘Kiaran Crowley graduated with a Diploma in Design Communications from Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art Design & Technology in 2000. He subsequently worked in the fields of animated video, illustration and design production for bands, festivals and theatre companies in Ireland, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States. After four years of working within these areas, Ciaran now devotes much of his time to painting, and has particpated in numerous group and two-person exhibitions in Dublin. His works are primarily figurative, and deal with a range subjects and situations, including depictions of his friends in social settings, self-portraits and nude studies.

Kieran’s objective is simple, ‘I want to make this work as visually accessible to the viewer as I possibly can  ‘I’m a fan of form and not much else. I have no interest in producing work that won’t interest people on a personal level, and the idea that a perfect stranger can relate to someone they’ll probably never encounter just by looking at how this person is composed and painted fascinates me. There is a direct and palpable relationship between the stranger on the canvas and the stranger in front of it that is only evident when the two are facing each other.’
