Anwar Saeed in Lahore with some of his gay-themed paintings.
Saeed (born in 1955, Lahore) lives and works in Lahore, Pakistan.
The artist explores the idea of homosexuality in his paintings, challenging the norms of society. He mocks the individuals that love to act as the moral compass of society, disseminating their beliefs and opinions as the absolute truth. Saeed claims that his works are that of “love, pleasure and decadence”. Lately the artist has experimented with digital prints while exploring the same ideas. He also hints at several other social-political issues in his work.
